Doggie Ice Lick

This dog-friendly “pup-sicle” treat will keep your pooch busy - and hydrated - on a hot day!

You Will Need:

Directions:

  1. Make sure that you have plenty of room in your freezer before you begin!

  2. Fill your freezer-safe container about 2/3 full with chicken broth.

  3. Slice bananas; top each slice with a spoonful of peanut butter, and drop into the broth.

  4. Add chicken jerky treats to the broth; you might prefer to break them in half.

  5. Freeze for several hours before serving (time will vary depending on the size of your container, but we recommend freezing overnight.)

These can be quite messy, so we recommend taking your treats outside for your dog to enjoy. Serve in a dog bowl or on a frisbee, or even in a plastic kiddie pool! (Run some warm water over the outside of the container to loosen from the mold.)

You can also make different variations of this recipe with other types of treats, fruit/veggies, or tossing in one of their favorite chew toys!

** Tip: If you don’t have a freezer-safe bowl (or a lot of room in your freezer), you can make smaller servings in an ice cube tray! Keep any extra cubes in a freezer bag for a quick and easy “pup-sicle” treat anytime. **
