Volcano Cheese Dip in a Bread Bowl

This simple recipe is a real crowd-pleaser!

  • 16 oz. sourdough bread (center hollowed out)

  • 2 cups sour cream

  • 8 oz. cream cheese (softened)

  • 2 cups cheddar cheese (shredded)

  • 1 cup cooked ground sausage OR chopped bacon

  • 3 green onions (chopped)

  • 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 Tb. Sarah Jane's Rocket Fuel Salsa

  • Salt & pepper (to taste)

  • Parsley (for garnish)


  1. Preheat oven to 350*F. Place bread loaf into a greased cast iron skillet or on greased baking sheet.

  2. In a medium size mixing bowl, combine all ingredients except bread. Reserve 2 Tbsp. cheddar cheese.

  3. Spoon mixture into bread opening allowing it to mound up above loaf.

  4. Sprinkle top with reserved cheese and parsley.

  5. Bake uncovered 22-25 minutes or until hot & bubbly.

  6. Dip will ooze down over the side of bread loaf as it bakes.

  7. Serve with remaining bread pieces or tortilla chips.
